Cast for indie production still being finalized

Actor Michael Cera is no longer being considered for a role in the independent movie, “Columbus,” filming in Columbus through Aug. 20.

The actor’s schedule eventually did not allow the possibility, movie producers said Friday.

Another actor now will fill that role, “Columbus” producers said.

The film stars John Cho, currently playing Sulu in the just-released and recent top box-office draw “Star Trek Beyond.”

Cho plays a Korean-born, struggling writer who comes to Columbus to be with his architect father, who lies in a coma after visiting Columbus to study its architecture.

Haley Lu Richardson, most recently from the ABC Family series, “Ravenswood,” plays the film’s female lead as a Columbus native who wants to stay in Columbus and pursue her own dreams.
