Margaret E. Cody Withers, 76, of Columbus, died at 10:40 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2016, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Margaret was born in Brown County September 20, 1939, the daughter of Pleasant and Edith Bingham Cody. She married Bobbie Withers April 6, 1957, in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
She was raised in the Pentecostal Church. She loved her children, grandchildren and her dogs.
Survivors include her husband, Bobbie Withers of Columbus; children, Darrel (Mary) Withers of Columbus, Robert Withers of Columbus, Teresa (Danny) Campbell of Little York, Indiana, and Judy (Terry) Conard of Seymour; grandchildren, Kristopher (Ann) Withers, Aundraea (Allie) Henderson, Heather (Jesse) Law, Peggy Campbell, Daniel (Lindsey) Campbell, Jessica (Jordy) Barnes, Gunner Wilson, Deakon Wilson, Matthew Withers and Meagan (John) Roberts; 19 great-grandchildren; and a brother, George Cody.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mahalia Thompson; brothers, James, William, Howard and Marvin Cody; and a great-granddaughter, Abigail Barnes.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with the Rev. Larry Calhoun officiating. Calling will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from noon until service time Monday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
