Gerald Ellis Clark, 91, of Columbus, passed away August 5, 2016, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. He was born in Columbus June 10, 1925, the son of Verlyn and Dorothy Mae Shaw Clark.

A part of “The Greatest Generation”, Gerald served in the elite U.S. Naval Amphibious Forces during World War II.

He was wed to Kathryne McNabb Beedie for over 64 years. They owned and operated Clark Plumbing & Heating, later known as Clark Supply, serving Central Indiana for decades.

The funeral will be conducted at 12 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, 2016, at the Jewell‐Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Lucas officiating. Visitation shall be conducted from 3 to 5 p.m.  Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, at the funeral home and one hour prior to service Monday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana through the funeral home.

Survivors include sons, William “Bill” (Linda) Clark, Richard (Karen) Clark and Joseph (Bev) Clark all of Columbus; a daughter, Toni Jane Hacker (Larry) Smith of Columbus; 10 grandchildren; seven great‐grandchildren; and a sister Donna (Rex) Wittke of Utah.

Gerald was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryne Beedie Clark, Feb. 9, 2009; a son, John Robert Clark; and his parents.
