Bull Dogs take 4th in season-opening Fall Preview

CARMEL — The third-ranked Columbus North girls golfers opened the season with a fourth-place finish out of 18 teams in the Fall Preview at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel, site of the state finals.

Most of the top 10 teams in the state were in the field. Carmel and Zionsville each shot 316, with the Greyhounds winning on the fifth-score tiebreaker. No. 2 Westfield finished third with a 320, followed by the Bull Dogs at 329 and Chesterton at 333.

Danbi Kim led North with a 78. Holly Anderson carded an 80, Alex Munnicha added an 83, Julia Luken shot 88 and Aubrey Smith had a 99.

“I think we can do better than what we did today,” North coach Scott Seavers said. “We didn’t get off to the best start, but we were able to turn it around on our second nine. I like the way they steadied it out after a rough start.”
