Thomas Harold Sayrs, 71, of Columbus, died July 13, 2016, at his home.

A celebration of his life and a time of sharing will be held from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 14, at Simmons Winery, 8111 E. County Road 450 North. Please join us as we lift a glass and share stories to honor the life and memory of our nephew, cousin and friend, Tom Sayrs.

Tom was born May 2, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and had been a Columbus resident most of his life. He attended Indiana University and received two associate degrees from Ivy Tech. He previously worked for Cummins Engine Company and retired from Strand Associates where he was a civil engineer.

Tom is survived by an aunt, Ann Cramer of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold C. Sayrs, a casualty of World War II; his mother, Janet Cramer Conrad; and his stepfather, Albert A. “Jack” Conrad.

Arrangements were entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
