Kathleen L. Hurt, 87, of Columbus, passed from this life at 1:45 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2016, at her home.

Mrs. Hurt was born August 31, 1928, in Bedford, Indiana, to William Al and Gwendolyn Martin Clemons. She married Robert “Gene” Hurt January 8, 1946. He preceded her in death March 20, 1995.

A homemaker, Mrs. Hurt was co-owner of Hurt Carpet Service and a member of Come As You Are Ministries.

Survivors include her children, Arthur (Susan) Hurt, Pamulia (Carl) Wilson, Terry (Glenna) Hurt, Diana (Ron) Hendershot, Larry (Joni) Hurt, Timothy “Bo” (Peggy) Hurt and Paul Hurt, all of Columbus, Teresa (Danny) Bryant of Greenwood, Rob (Dawn) Hurt and Shelley Hurt, both of Columbus, and Kathy (Jim) Roush of Kansas; sisters, Wilma Griffin of Bloomington, Juanita Adkins of Ellettsville and Judy Slater and Myra Chastain, both of Bedford; 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Hurt was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother; three sisters; and two grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Come As You Are Ministries, 2002 Ohio Street, Columbus, with Pastor Rob Hurt officiating.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
