Jesse Ralph Hilderbrand, 75, of Columbus, passed away at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at home, surrounded by family.
Mr. Hilderbrand managed the Swifty station on National Road for over 12 years. He was president of Eagles Lodge No. 741 for several years and enjoyed spending time with his “grandbabies” and family. He loved to fish.
Born in Columbus, Indiana, January 18, 1941, he was the son of the late Jesse Clarence and Evelyn Laverne Jewell Hilderbrand. He married Christina Lee on June 30, 1984, in Garden City, Indiana.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Christina Hilderbrand; children, Larry (Jam) Hilderbrand, Regina Hilderbrand, Brian Hilderbrand, Jesse (April) Hilderbrand, Julie (Jerry) Horn, Crystal (Mike) Taylor, Kelsey (Ronnie) Hubbard, Megan (Caesar) Hilderbrand and Brittney (Doug) Hilderbrand; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Sam and Billy Hilderbrand; sisters, Rebecca (Joe) Shelton, Toni (Dale) Jordan, Alice Fields and Karen Cox; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hilderbrand was preceded in death by daughter, Kimberly Dawn Hilderbrand; a granddaughter, Brooke Taylor; brothers, Archie, Charles, Johnny Ray and Clarence Alvie Hilderbrand; and sisters, Vivian Michael, Emma George and Judy Bassett.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 18, 2016, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Jeff Jones officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
