David E. Knops Sr., 62, of South Beatty Street, died at 7:04 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at his home.
Mr. Knops was born April 5, 1954, in Indianapolis, to Wiley R. and Helen Louise Hurt Knops. He married Nancy Middleton and later married Theresa Lynn Dixon Goins September 4, 1995.
He was a self-employed carpenter and enjoyed collecting knives and breeding pugs.
Survivors include his children, David (Melissa) Knops Jr. of Edinburgh and Miranda Knops of Bloomington, Illinois; stepchildren, Jason and Jeremy Goins of Columbus and Brandon (Christina) Goins of Hope; a brother, Verbon Knops of Columbus; and eight grandchildren.
Mr. Knops was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Theresa, on February 17, 2016; three brothers; and a sister.
A celebration of life will be held at 5 p.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Randy Burton officiating.
There will be no visitation.
