Edwin H. Schuette, 97, of Columbus, passed from this life at 9:10 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2016, at Silver Oaks Health Campus.
Mr. Schuette retired from Arvin Industries where he had worked for 52 years.
He was a life member of St. Paul Lutheran Church-Clifty where he served as former Financial Advisor and Treasurer. He was a 1937 graduate of Columbus High School and was a WWII Army veteran serving in the 754th Tank Battalion in the Philippines from 1945 to 1946.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church-Clifty with the Rev. Douglas Bauman officiating. Family and friends may call from 12 p.m. to time of service Tuesday at the church. Private Entombment will be at Garland Brook Mausoleum with Military Honors presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Growing with Christ Love.

Mr. Schuette was born in Decatur County, Dec. 16, 1918, to Harry and Laura Boxman Schuette.
He married Evelyn M. Cline Oct. 17, 1942. She preceded him in death Oct. 28, 2005.
Survivors include his grandson, Alex Schuette of Madison; granddaughter, Amy Hand of Columbus; great-granddaughter, Hayley Hand of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a son, Royce Schuette; and his sister, Ethel Reed.
