Tom F. Pickett, 53, of Brownstown, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2016, in Bartholomew County.

Tom was born February 4, 1963, in New Albany, Indiana, the son of Lindsay W. and Charlotte Booker Pickett.

He was a longtime employee of Swifty Oil Company and was currently employed at Wischmeier Trucking as an IT analyst.

An avid reader, he enjoyed golf and playing cards and games. Tom also enjoyed spending time with family and playing with his nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 25, 2016, at Edinburgh Apostolic Tabernacle with the Rev. Mark Myers and the Rev. Elisha Bowling officiating. Calling will be at the church from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service Thursday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.

Memorial contributions may be made to Edinburgh Apostolic Tabernacle or Apostolic Youth on Missions, through Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.

Survivors include his mother, Charlotte Pickett of Edinburgh; siblings, Caren (Eugene) Colwell of Martinsville, Tony (Robin) Pickett of Avon, Bob Miller of Beech Grove, Marty (Jim) Cantor of Indianapolis, Nancy Pickett of Edinburgh, Mark (Lisa) Pickett of Taylorsville, Mary Hudson of Indianapolis and Melissa (Brian) Reynolds of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lindsay; sister, Linda Miller; and a niece, Angel Pickett.

Services were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
