BROCKTON, Mass. — A 41-year-old man has been convicted in a vicious attack on a woman in her Brockton home in 2013.
Brian Vines, of Brockton, was found guilty Thursday of charges including armed robbery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon following a five-day trial.
The attack happened June 4, 2013 when Vines visited the home of Michelle Foley, a mother whose two sons had known Vines growing up.
Prosecutors say Foley suffered fractured nasal bones, vision loss and severe stab wounds following the attack. They say Vines also took Foley’s debit card and left her bleeding in the kitchen.
The Brockton Enterprise reports that Vines, a convicted sex offender, testified in court that another man who visited Foley’s house with him attacked her while he was in the bathroom.
