Harlan O. Ollestad, 80, of Columbus, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at IU Methodist Hospital.
Before retirement he had been employed in sales at Bender Lumber. He enjoyed fishing and golf and loved to paint.
There will be visitation for Harlan at Norman Funeral Home in Hope from noon to 2 p.m. Monday. No services are planned at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Bearcreek Cemetery with Wes Jones officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like for memorial contributions to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, through the funeral home.
Born August 30, 1936, in Duluth, Minnesota, Harlan was the son of Willis and Evelyn Elstad Ollestad. He married Patricia Parker March 3, 1956, and she survives.
Also surviving are children, John (Denise) Ollestad, Roberta (Jeff) Gilpin, Rhonda (Gary) Ollestad, Carla (Tony) Boaz, Karen (Jay) Darnell and Sharon Ollestad; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Harlan was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.
