NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Arkansas Democrats have approved a platform and selected presidential electors at their state convention in North Little Rock.

The platform passed on Saturday supports “a universally accessible, high quality pre-kindergarten program” in Arkansas. It also calls for students to be able to refinance student loans; forgiveness of student loans for those who go into public service; and opposes voucher programs.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/2c6plXw) the six who will cast Arkansas’ votes for president if Hillary Clinton carries the state are Sheila Bronfman of Little Rock, former state Treasurer Jimmie Lou Fisher, state Rep. Vivian Flowers of Pine Bluff, Denise Garner of Fayetteville, Pulaski County Judge Barry Hyde and former Little Rock Mayor Lottie Shackelford.

The Republican nominee has carried Arkansas in each of the past four presidential elections.
