TUCSON, Ariz. — Tucson police are investigating the shooting death of a teenage boy.

Authorities say patrol officers heard gunfire around 2 a.m. Sunday in the area of 28th and Sahuara.

They responded to a possible location and found the victim lying in the roadway with signs of gunshot trauma.

Firefighters pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police are withholding the teen’s identity pending family notification.

Investigators say several people have been detained and are being questioned.

But no suspect has been identified.

Police say the investigation is still in its early stages.
