Bakery owner to study wine in California

Chef Alexa Lemley of 240sweet Artisan Foodworks, 9600 U.S. 31 North, has been selected for a James Beard Foundation grant to study Rhone Rangers wine in California.

The professional study/travel grant enables working sommeliers or chefs to learn about American Rhone varietal wines by visiting several notable wineries and meeting the winemakers to gain a greater understanding and appreciation of the quality, diversity and food-friendliness of American Rhone wines.

Lemley and Samantha Aulick are co-owners of 240sweet Artisan Foodworks.
