Columbus East slipped by Columbus North 15-13 in the annual crosstown football rivalry.


Organizers of a downtown street and sidewalk beautification effort sold 1,070 engraved bricks for the second phase of the project, and the Board of Public Works and Safety approved an additional $3,840 for work on lights and receptacles.


Construction began on a $182,000 addition, including a new sanctuary, to Free Methodist Church at 22nd and Maple streets.
