COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Police say two men have been killed and another wounded in gunfire at a Central Texas apartment complex.

College Station police did not immediately announce any arrests in the shootings before dawn Sunday but said the public was not in danger. Police are trying to determine a motive for the shootings.

Police responding to reports of an assault and shots fired arrived to find two wounded men near the entrance to a unit. Both later died. Police identified them as 20-year-olds Brysen Jamal Rhodes of Wortham and Jack Lopez of Rosenberg.

Police say a third wounded man was located inside the apartment. Further details on him weren’t immediately released.

College Station police say they’re trying to determine what roles that Rhodes and Lopez had during the shootings.
