LUCEDALE, Miss. — One of two inmates who escaped from a Hinds County supervision facility is back in custody.

George County Sheriff Keith Havard’s office, in a news release Monday, said 36-year-old William George Boyle was captured Saturday in the Barton community. Havard says Boyle, who escaped last Monday, was known to have family in the George County area.

Havard says a tip led deputies to the area and Boyle was spotted walking down a road with a woman. Boyle was captured after a short chase as he attempted to hide in the woods. He was taken into custody without further incident and booked into the George County Regional Jail where he remains.

Boyle, prior to the escape, was serving three years in prison for arson and non-support of a child.
