CENTRAL, S.C. — Authorities say up to 1,000 people were at a party at an off-campus apartment complex near Clemson University where a 21-year-old man was shot in the neck.
Pickens County Chief Deputy Creed Hashe said in a news release that the victim of the shooting early Sunday morning is expected to survive.
Hashe says several men got into a fight at a party at The Cottages of Clemson about three miles from campus when someone fired at the victim who was on the ground struggling with other people.
Hashe says deputies know who fired the shot, but the incident is still under investigation and that person has not been charged.
Hashe says 500 to 1,000 people were at the party, clogging roads and making it tough for deputies to respond.
