Edna Rumbley

Edna June Rumbley, 89, formerly of Columbus, died at 2:43 p.m. Saturday August 27, at Arbor Grove Village in Greensburg.

Born in Haleysville, Alabama, on August 29, 1926, Edna was the daughter of Bur and Lena McNutt Wise.

Edna was a longtime member of Shiloh Baptist Church and enjoyed vegetable gardening and canning and oil painting.

Surviving Edna are her daughter, Brenda (Ned) Behrman, Columbus; her sisters, Beatrice Grassi, Jeffersonville, Ohio, and Clara Williams, North Vernon; a grandson, William (Jenna) Behrman, Elizabethtown; her great-grandson, Avery Bird, Elizabethtown; stepsons, Roger Rumbley, North Vernon, and Wayne Rumbley, Napierville, Illinois; four stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, William Franklin Taylor Jr. and Oliver Merle Rumbley; her brother, Benson Wise; and a stepson, James Rumbley.

Calling will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, followed by the funeral at 6 p.m., at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street, with the Rev. Marcus Spear officiating. Cremation is planned with inurnment in Garland Brook Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Shiloh Baptist Church.
