Herod C. ” Bud” Barr Jr., 78, of Greensburg, died at 5:24 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2016, at Aspen Place Health Campus in Greensburg.
Mr. Barr was born December 18, 1937, in Columbus, to Herod C. and Helen Elizabeth Rathsman Barr Sr. He married Ann L. Moore July 24, 1965. She preceded him in death December 28, 2012.
Mr. Barr retired from Cummins Engine Company, where he was affectionately known as “Joe,” October 1, 1990, after 32 years of service.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg, Camon Masonic Lodge No. 343 in Hope, the Murat Shrine and Indianapolis Valley of Scottish Rite.
He enjoyed drawing and doing pastels.
Survivors include his son, John M. (Bonita) Barr of Clifford; grandchildren, Dezyrae Barr of Clifford, Destiny Lonaker of Columbus and Dylan Lonaker of Clifford; a great-granddaughter, Josie Lou Heslop of Columbus; special friends, Ron and Helen Graue of Greensburg; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mr. Barr was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a sister, Janet Mullis.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street.
Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
