PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Nearly 200 construction workers in Pikeville have received new boots for free.

WYMT-TV reports (http://bit.ly/2bO3mRl) that Wolverine representatives came to the city Monday to give a free pair of boots and socks to workers constructing a new building for the University of Pikeville’s Kentucky College of Optometry.

Officials with the company, which makes work boots, say the giveaway is part of their “Project Bootstrap” campaign.

Wolverine spokesman Michael Boss says the effort is a way of thanking the construction crews for what they’re doing by building new sites for the future.
