FOSSIL, Ore. — Authorities say a search and rescue operation is underway for a hunter lost in the Ochoco National Forest in central Oregon.

The Wheeler County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that rescue teams responded Sunday night to a call about a missing 75-year-old man who was bow hunting in the southern end of the county.

Multiple agency personnel from Grant County, Crook County, the Air National Guard and Mountain Wave Emergency Communications are helping in the search.
