TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — A Terre Haute middle school has reopened two weeks after it was shut down because of a bat infestation.
Students returned to Sarah Scott Middle School on Wednesday following removal of bats from the building and cleaning work.
Vigo County health administrator Joni Wise tells the (Terre Haute) Tribune-Star (http://bit.ly/2c0wiZZ ) the school was cleared to reopen after inspections found no bats inside and spotted none flying from the building.
A pest control company is sealing openings that allowed bats to enter the school, mostly in the gymnasium area.
The middle school’s some 400 students attended classes at an elementary school during the closure.
