HARLAN, Ky. — A Harlan man and woman have been indicted on manslaughter charges after a child in their care died.

The Harlan Daily Enterprise reports (http://bit.ly/2bBJbtK) that 32-year-old Dallas Kelly and 22-year-old Tabatha Philipot were arrested Monday on indictment warrants.

According to the grand jury indictments handed down Aug. 29, Kelly and Philipot left a child younger than the age of 8 unattended in a bathtub, causing the child’s death.

Kelly and Philipot’s relationship to each other is unclear. It’s also unclear whether Kelly and Philipot were related to the child.

Both are incarcerated at the Harlan County Detention Center.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether Kelly and Philipot have attorneys.
