Man arrested on charge of heroin possession

Columbus police arrested a local man after receiving a complaint about suspicious activity behind a gas station in the 4000 block of 25th Street.

Officer Zach Wright went to the area about 10:10 p.m. Sunday and located Joshua P. Leisman, 25, 932 Northern Goshawk Drive, and two other individuals behind the gas station, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police spokesman.

Officers confirmed that Leisman had an arrest warrant pending in Marion County. Officers later located heroin inside a pack of cigarettes as well as a syringe that belonged to Leisman, Harris said.

Leisman was arrested on the Marion County warrant and preliminary charges of possession of heroin and possession of a legend drug injection device.

Leisman is being held without bond in the Bartholomew County Jail, jail officials said.
