SAN FRANCISCO — An Amber Alert has been canceled after an 11-month-old boy abducted from San Francisco by his grandmother was found safe.

Police say William Brown was spotted at a Big Lots store in Redwood City on Thursday afternoon by people who recognized him from the Amber Alert.

He was with his grandmother, 44-year-old Phoebe Haynes, who was taken into custody.

The boy and grandmother had disappeared from a grocery store Wednesday night where they had been with the boy’s mother.
