Douglas L. Garrett, 67, of Bloomington, Indiana, died unexpectedly August 24, 2016, in Bloomington.
Mr. Garrett was born in Lafayette April 19, 1949, the son of Verne and Leola Durbin Garrett.
He was a 1967 graduate of Columbus High School and served in the U.S. Air Force serving in Vietnam. He was a computer programmer/analyst for Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium.
Surviving are his brother, Nathan (Kathy) Garrett of Columbus, Indiana; sister, Brenda Garrett of Athens, Alabama; his friend and companion, Judy Vitaliano of Bloomington, Indiana; nephew, Travis (Kristen) Garrett of Columbus; niece, Tessa (Steve) Thorstenson of Mooresville, Indiana; two great-nieces; and one great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation is planned. There will be a private gathering at a later date. Arrangements were handled by Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street.
