Jenny’s Picks – September 1

I have more than one friend who’s into beekeeping, which has piqued my interest. So I’m heading to Introduction to Beekeeping, 6 p.m. Sept. 6 at the Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St. Laura McCracken will demonstrate the crush-and-strain method of processing honey in small batches. Sponsored by Bartholomew County Master Gardeners. Information: 812-379-1266 and mybcpl.org.

I recently drove through Nashville, Tennessee, on my way to Alabama. As I passed the city, I was hoping to catch a glimpse of some of Nashville’s famed performance spaces. Then I remembered: we have some nice performances spaces right here in Bartholomew County. The Little Hope Opry of WILLow LeaVes in Hope showcases traditional and classic country music from 7 to 10 p.m. the first Saturday of the month. The Sept. 3 performance will feature Paul Penny from Louisville, Kentucky. Admission is $10. Tickets, reservations: 812-546-0640 and [email protected].
