TRENTON, N.J. — A Tropical Storm watch is in effect for the New Jersey coast with rough surf and high winds expected this weekend from Tropical Storm Hermine.

The National Weather Service says that minor to moderate coastal flooding is possible around high tides starting late Saturday.

The level of rain and flooding will depend on the path that Hermine takes. The storm made landfall in Florida’s Big Bend area as a hurricane early Friday.

Forecasters say there is potential for more than 2 inches of rain and 4 to 6 inches in some coastal areas.

They say hazardous seas and rip currents could last into the middle of next week.
