SPOKANE, Wash. — Authorities are using surveillance video in their investigation into the cause of a brush fire along Interstate 90 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

The Spokesman Review reports (http://bit.ly/2coXZMD) the fire started on I-90 near U.S. Highway 95. It burned four cars and 29 all-terrain vehicles and personal water crafts.

Coeur d’Alene Fire Investigator Craig Etherton says vehicles were captured on video as they passed the area on Aug. 27 around 11:20 a.m.

Etherton said he’s working to determine whether the fire could have been caused by a malfunctioning vehicle or sparks from an object being dragged by a passing motorist.

The fire could have started in multiple spots.

People with information about the fire can contact Etherton.
