SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — State officials are accepting nominations for the Governor’s Export Awards.

The recognition is for companies that have “achieved excellence in exporting” and organizations that have provided export assistance. The categories include exporter of the year, new exporter, agricultural exporter and export awareness and development.

The deadline to submit nominations is Oct. 15.

State officials say exports by Illinois companies equaled over $63.4 billion last year. Illinois is the largest exporting state in the Midwest.
