COLCHESTER, Conn. — One person has been killed in a house fire in Connecticut.

State police say troopers and firefighters responded to the residence in Colchester around 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

Upon arrival, they found one person suffering from life-threatening injuries. The victim was taken via medical helicopter to a hospital in Rhode Island, where they were pronounced dead.

State police say the Office of the Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the manner and cause of death. Identification of the victim is pending positive identity.

No other injuries were reported.

The fire remains under investigation.
