David E. and Sarah F. Smith of West County Road 525S, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at a party at 5 p.m. Sept. 10 at Burney-Clay Township Volunteer Fire Department and a trip to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, Tennessee, given by their children and grandchildren.
Mr. Smith and the former Sarah Jones were married Oct. 2, 1966, in Amburgey, Kentucky, by the Rev. Hillis Reedy.
Mr. Smith retired from Baldor Electric and Mrs. Smith retired from Cosco/Doral.
The couple have three children, David E. Smith Jr. of Bloomington, Delilah R. Brown of North Vernon and Steven M. Smith of Columbus. They also have five grandchildren.
