PITTSBURGH — Fire officials say a blaze in a Pittsburgh home has claimed the life of one man and injured another.

Crews were dispatched to the residence in the West Oakland neighborhood at about 7 a.m. Sunday. Paramedics transported one resident to UPMC Mercy, where he was pronounced dead at about 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

The Allegheny County medical examiner’s office identified the victim as 61-year-old Anthony Ford. A ruling on the cause and manner of death will be made after an autopsy.

The second man was taken to UPMC Presbyterian for treatment of smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
