REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. — Delaware police have arrested a Wilmington man in connection with a human trafficking ring.

Police say 32-year-old Marcus Smith was arrested on Friday.

Police say Smith was running a prostitution ring out of a Rehoboth Beach motel. Police say a task force made up of state troopers, United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations agents and the Delaware Department of Justice conducted surveillance on the hotel and called numbers associated with Smith’s prostitution advertisements.

Police say Smith was arrested during a traffic stop, and was transported to the police station along with two female victims and Smith’s six-month-old daughter.

Police say Smith traveled to hotels across Delaware and abused and coerced his victims into prostitution.

He has been charged with two counts of human trafficking.
