FARMINGTON, N.M. — Authorities say two motorcyclists from Gallup died in a crash in San Juan County after they failed to stop at a stop sign.

New Mexico State Police say 56-year-old Willy Roy Jr. and 43-year-old Abraham Vining died late Saturday afternoon in the crash at the intersection of Navajo Route 5 and NM State Road 371.

Police say both motorcyclists were believed to be riding in tandem when they failed to stop at the intersection, causing both to crash.

Roy and Vining were believed to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time.

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
