IRVINE, Calif. — Officials investigating a vehicle crash involving an 81-year-old driver outside a Southern California concert venue that injured nine people and damaged a police cruiser have found no evidence of drug or alcohol use.

Mike Hallinan, spokesman for the Irvine Police Department, said Sunday that the driver’s advanced age may have contributed to the crash.

Hallinan says police are not investigating the incident as a crime. The cause is still under investigation.

The Los Angeles Times reports (http://lat.ms/2cBFu8S) that at least four people were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries and all but one had been released by early Sunday morning.
