SAVANNAH, Ga. — Police in Savannah are investigating a fatal hit-and-run wreck that claimed the life of a young man riding a motor scooter.

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan police said in a statement Tuesday that the crime happened around 6:30 p.m. Monday, near the intersection of Meding Street and McKenzie Place.

Police said 19-year-old Dyquan Glover was riding the red motor scooter south on Meding Street when he was struck from behind by a vehicle traveling the same direction. Police say the driver of the car, a white Chevrolet Silverado, is unknown. The car was later found abandoned at East 57th Street and Guatamala Street.

Police are asking that anyone with information about the crash or the suspect’s identity to call them or CrimeStoppers.
