Coach: Injured football player on the mend

A Columbus East freshman football player who was injured during practice Tuesday was doing much better Wednesday, according to varsity coach Bob Gaddis.

Seth Chandler was taken by ambulance to an Indianapolis hospital after sustaining a concussion just before the end of Tuesday’s practice. A neck injury was feared, but Gaddis said MRIs and CT scans came back negative.

“He’s OK,” Gaddis said. “In the the texts he sent me, he’s doing really good.”
