CONCORD, N.H. — New Hampshire’s Statehouse will be open to weekend visitors on three upcoming Saturdays to test a plan to make it more accessible for tourists.

The Concord Monitor (http://bit.ly/2c9C7kD ) reports that a legislative committee approved a memorandum of understanding drawn up by the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday.

The building in downtown Concord will first open on Sept. 24 following an outside ceremony celebrating the Statehouse’s history. Guided tours are expected to begin at 11 a.m. and leave every 20 minutes until 3 p.m.

The Statehouse will also be open on Oct. 1 and Oct. 8.

A House bill recently passed allowing lawmakers to broker an agreement with a private entity to open the Statehouse on some Saturdays.

This story has been corrected to show the Greater, not Great, Concord Chamber of Commerce approved a memorandum of understanding.
