COLUMBUS, Ohio — Police have identified a homeless man whose body was found in an abandoned home in Columbus over the weekend.

Police were called to a historical neighborhood of the city Saturday morning and discovered the man’s decomposing body inside the home. He was declared dead at the scene.

Police on Wednesday identified him as 54-year-old Willie Worthy Jr.

The Columbus Dispatch reports (http://bit.ly/2cjrkZD ) the Franklin County Coroner’s Office says Worthy had been shot once in the head and once in the back.

The office says it can’t estimate how long it has been since Worthy died.

His death had been the 65th killing in the city this year.
