BEAUFORT, S.C. — Authorities have dropped a murder charge against a Beaufort man in connection with the slayings of two people in the Lowcountry.
Prosecutors say 29-year-old Olin Brown had been charged with murder in the death of 28-year-old Titus Singleton, whose burned body was found in a car in Yemassee last December.
The Island Packet of Hilton Head reports (http://bit.ly/2cvHATi ) that after reviewing the evidence, prosecutors dropped the murder charge. A grand jury last month indicted Brown on a charge of accessory to murder.
He also faces an accessory charge in the death of 25-year-old Katherine Collier, whose body was found in a shallow grave in Burton in January. Brown’s brother, Charles Brown is charged with murder in both deaths. The defendants’ mother, Nancy Kennedy, is charged with accessory in both cases.
