SPARTANBURG, S.C. — A Greer woman is headed to prison after pleading guilty to shooting and kidnapping her ex-boyfriend.
The Herald-Journal of Spartanburg reports (http://bit.ly/2cmC5sE) the 7th Circuit Solicitor’s Office said in a statement that 45-year-old Freda Lynn Lambert-Smith pleaded guilty Tuesday to attempted murder, kidnapping and other charges.
Solicitor’s office spokesman Murray Glenn says a judge sentenced Lambert-Smith to 20 years in prison, with all but seven years suspended.
Authorities said Lambert-Smith held her ex-boyfriend at gunpoint for several hours before shooting him in the stomach last September. She fled and later turned herself in to authorities.
Lambert-Smith also pleaded guilty to attempted kidnapping, stemming from a separate incident in which she hired two people who tried to kidnap her ex-boyfriend in a parking lot as a prank in December 2015.
