Thomas James Johnson, 51, of Columbus, died unexpectedly at 1:23 p.m., September 5, 2016, at University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Ohio.

Tom was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also loved mud bogging and spending time with his family.

He was born in Columbus, Indiana, July 22, 1965, to Tom Charles Johnson and Graziella Marie Pilotto.

Tom married Charlotte Roberts Sept. 15, 1990, in Columbus, Indiana.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte; daughters, Victoria Johnson and Sarah Ruth, both at home; parents, Graziella (Robert) Bush and Tom (Paulette) Johnson, both of Columbus; mother-in-law, Martha (Tom) Seal of Scipio, Indiana; brother, Paul (Annette) Johnson of Chicago, Illinois; sister, Kim (Enzo) Vaccari of Italy; nephew, Alex Vaccari; niece, Emily Vaccari; aunt, Laura Pilotto; grandmother, Irma Pilotto.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Larry F. Roberts; maternal grandfather; and both paternal grandparents.

The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Tom Horton officiating. Calling will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Daugherty Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children’s Hospital.
