TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Law officers in Tuscaloosa County were able to rein in a wayward horse by corralling it in a gated softball field at Holt High School.

Al.com reports (http://bit.ly/2czz8Td) that they’re trying to find the horse’s owners, which remained a mystery as of early Friday.

Sgt. Alex Miles tells the news site that deputies were sent to the area late Thursday night after people spotted the loose horse, which appeared to have an injured leg and hoof.

Miles said that after getting the horse into the gated field, the deputies went door to door at homes of horse owners nearby, but all of their horses were accounted for.

The horse is now being held in the sheriff’s office barn.
