Theodore A. Pfeiffer Sr., 90, of Freetown, passed from this life at 2:32 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2016, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Mr. Pfeiffer was formerly employed at Stadler Packing Company, Pfeiffer Body Shop and Sportsman’s Corner Bait Shop.

He was a member of Freetown Church of Christ, USAC Association, Old Timers Club, Eagles Lodge in Florida, American Legion and VFW in Seymour and was a former member of Bucks and Doe’s Square Dancing Club.

He was a WWII Army veteran.

The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Freetown Church of Christ. Family and friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike and from 9:30 a.m. to time of service Monday at the church. Burial will be at Freetown Cemetery with Military Honors presented by the VFW Post 1925 and American Legion Post 89.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or Freetown Church of Christ.

Mr. Pfeiffer was born in Indianapolis, July 3, 1926, to Howard and Wilminia Russe Pfeiffer.

He married Arline Stovall June 26, 1948. She preceded him in death Sept.19, 1997.

He later married Janet M. Phillips May 15, 1999.

Survivors include his wife, Janet M. Pfeiffer of Freetown; his children, Ted (Sherry) Pfeiffer Jr. of Freetown, Jim (Leah) Pfeiffer Sr. of Vallonia, Mary (Roy) Hendershot of Columbus, Larry (Jeanie) Pfeiffer of Freetown and Cathy (Robert) Hehe of Florida; stepchildren, Denzil (Barbara) Buckler of Indianapolis and Douglas (Regina) Buckler of Madison; 11 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, a brother, three sisters, one grandchild, two great-grandchildren, a step-daughter and a daughter-in-law.
