BUFFALO, N.Y. — Authorities say they’ve charged a man with opening fire inside Buffalo’s famous Anchor Bar in May, killing a kitchen worker and wounding another during a Friday night dinner rush.

Police and prosecutors on Monday announced that 26-year-old Jorge Suarez of Buffalo has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of Freddie Dizon inside the Main Street restaurant where the first Buffalo-style chicken wings were served. The case will now go to a grand jury.

Suarez has been in custody on a parole violation since shortly after the shooting. He’s yet to be arraigned on the murder charge and it’s unclear whether he has an attorney.
