PITTSBURGH — A preliminary hearing has been postponed for the mother and brother of Pennsylvania twins whom welfare caseworkers haven’t been able to locate for more than 10 years.

Monday’s hearing was delayed until Oct. 31 for charges against 47-year-old Patricia Fowler, of Penn Hills, and her son, 18-year-old Datwon (DAY’-twahn) Fowler.

They’ve been accused of lying to police about the whereabouts of Ivon and Inisha, who would be about 17 now.

Penn Hills police say Datwon Fowler phoned investigators and pretended to be Ivon last month so police would stop looking for the twins.

Both suspects maintain the twins are safely living out of state, but police say none of their claims has checked out.

Attorneys for the Fowlers haven’t commented on the charges.
