Columbus Regional Health offers scholarship

The Columbus Regional Heath Auxiliary is offering a $1,000 scholarship open to students pursuing careers in the health care field.

Eligible students must:

•Be enrolled in a post-secondary education program

•Have completed 12 or more credit hours

•Have a “C” or higher grade-point average

Applicants that are active Columbus Regional Health volunteers who have completed at least 30 hours and one year of volunteer work, and those willing to become volunteers, will be given preference.

The deadline to apply is Sept. 30. Finalists will be interviewed by the Auxiliary Scholarship Committee.

Senate Republicans offering paid internships

The Indiana Senate Republican Caucus is offering paid, full-time spring-semester internships during the 2017 sessions.

Internships will be available in the legislative, legal, policy, communications and information technology offices at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. They will include benefits such as:

•a $700 bi-weekly stipend

•opportunities for scholarships

•opportunities for academic credit

•professional development

•community involvement

•networking

To be qualified you must be of at least sophomore standing at a college or university in Indiana. Recent college graduates and graduate and law school students are encouraged to apply.

The deadline to apply is Oct. 31 and a mandatory orientation will be conducted in late December.
